April 2013 Update
Infuselearning.com is simply superb. Those familiar with secretive.com would be amazed that a better class collaboration tool is out there, but infuse certainly meets this criteria. While the interface is not as friendly as socrative, the more varied quiz creation options - videos, images, self drawn or a wide variety of better ways to assess your student's learning. The negative is that the room number is not customizable, but I believe this will be changed. I would highly recommend this site for collaboration and online test taking...and it is all FREE!

Class Dojo
March 2013 Update
This is an outstanding motivation system that is so easily to learn and monitor. Once you have set up your class, you can add points using your iphone or ipad from anywhere in the classroom. You can choose for reports to be sent to parents weekly. You can customize your categories toward behaviors that you wish to see more often in your classroom. The best advice is to have classdojo displayed on your whiteboard as often as possible during the day. You will be amazed how quickly it motivates your students to stay on task and focused. I looked at this two years ago and never gave it a second glance. It was only after I saw a teacher using it that the power of this tool really clicked with me. Give this time and try it out. As i have stated - It is a classroom teacher's dream tool!

Integrating Web 2.0: Introduction
Welcome to my list of incredible Web 2.0 tools. The tools begin simple and get more complicated as you progress through the website. I will also add more over time, so check back regularly. If you have any questions about any of the tools or the blog, please email me at rbuxton@sas.edu.sg

This tool can be used seeminglessly in a 1:1 learning environment. The idea is that the teacher creates a room by going to the website. The teacher then shares the link that is created with the students. During lectures and presentations the today'smeet window can be left open on the IWB. Students can then post their thoughts during the lecture or presentation and also view others (works like a tweeter feed). I have also used this during faculty meetings, workshops, and/or presentations. Attendees can share their thoughts that are displayed on a IWB. The log which is created can be saved for as long as required.
This file is a breakdown of the different tools on the blog. You can download it to your hard drive for use at a later date.
